[/i][/font]points?
Firstly, there are two different types of point systems we use here at Summer Avenue; Character Strength Points and Skill Points.
Let's start off with Character Strength Points, shall we? They measure how strong your character is so in a battle, it's normally clear who will come out with an upper hand. It also helps battle mods determine who should win in a fight. If a commander went against a veteran, he would lose almost indefinitely. The veteran has at least 4000 more sp than the commander. (see battle thread for more information)
You gain these by posting in character, you get three points per IC post and that is the only way to get stronger in the SA world at this time. Character strength points are already added up for you in your mini-profile so you don't have to do that yourself. However, we please ask that you write your ranking (which is explained below) in either your personal text or your signature.
ranks:
Newcomer - 0-100
Lieutenant - 101-300
Sargent - 301-600
Commander - 601-1000
General - 1001-2000
Master - 2001-4000
Veteran - 4001 +
Going up in rank can also earn you special rewards, they may sometimes be small or sometimes might be something extraordinary. Depends on how we feel that day. (; Just kidding!
The second types of points are Skill Points, these are used as currency in SA. You can gain skill points first by posting, you get five points per IC post and an extra five points for completing a thread that had an actual plot. SP are also gained through contests, helping out staff members, good member conduct, creating graphics for the site, and sometimes during events. A roleplay teacher will also gain points for helping a member improve their post quality.
You may also earn points by advertising. You earn 15 points for every advertisement that you've posted IF you provide us with the link.
There will be other ways to earn SP as the site progresses so don't fret if you think it'll be too hard to gain rank. It should get easier and easier as you get the hang of it. (:
You can spend SP at the site shop. The Site shop has a very wide variety of items and they're always open!
Now get out there and start earning some points and spending them!
